Our Grants

What we do

Anguish’s Educational Foundation considers grants to individuals as a contribution towards the cost of:

• School uniform
• Residential school trips for approved educational purpose
• Fees for further education and vocational training including necessary equipment
• University maintenance
• Further Education courses which run for at least 2 terms
• Specialist glasses (e.g. if your child has diagnosed dyslexia) not available through the NHS

Who is eligible?

You are eligible to apply for a grant from Anguish’s Educational Foundation if:

• At the time you apply, you have been a resident for 2 years or more (unless there are exceptional circumstances) in the City of Norwich or in the parishes of Costessey, Hellesdon, Catton, Sprowston, Thorpe or Corpusty
• The student is under 25 years old
• You are on a low income, whether working and/or receiving benefits

What we do

Norwich Consolidated Charities considers grants to individuals for:

• Beds
• Cookers /Fridge/Freezers/washing machines
• Flooring
• Bankruptcy or Debt Relief Order (DROs) fees where you have been advised to make an application by a trusted organisation

Who is eligible?

You are eligible to apply for a grant from Norwich Consolidated Charities if:

• You pay council tax to/receive council tax benefit from Norwich City Council
• You have lived in Norwich for two or more years (unless exceptional circumstances apply)
• You are on a low income, whether working and/or receiving benefits, and

You are not able to get a Budgeting Loan from DWP or help from the Norfolk Assistance Scheme  https://www.norfolk.gov.uk/care-support-and-health/support-for-living-independently/money-and-benefits/norfolk-assistance-scheme

What we do

Norwich Freemen’s Charity considers financial support for freemen, their children, and widows/widowers.

Provision includes:

• Relief in Need grants for household items, repairs and such like
• Educational Grants
• Pensions

Who is eligible?

You may be eligible to apply for a grant from Norwich Freemen’s Charity as an individual if:

• You are a Freeman of the City of Norwich, or
• You are the son or daughter of a Freeman of the City of Norwich, or
• You are the widow or widower (by marriage or civil partnership) of a Freeman of the City of Norwich
• And you are on a low income
